Caged (Original)
36”x48”
Acrylics on canvas
Year 2024
This piece is a deeply personal exploration of a feeling I have carried since childhood. It represents the emotional weight/complexity of navigating past chapters and the lingering sense of responsibility for things beyond my control. I used an abstract, layered style to process the hurt and complexity of that experience, letting the movement of the paint express what words cannot. By titling it "Caged," I am reflecting on the feeling of being trapped within those past emotions, even as I use my art to move through them.
